Darren Brighton, CEO of Brighton Technology Group (BTG) announced the consolidation of the two companies on the 22nd February 2023.
Businesses of all sizes are increasingly seeking to consolidate their operational technologies to improve performance, control costs, reduce risk and to simplify operation management.
Darren said “In today’s commercial world, managers can no longer be expected to be personally responsible for the operation of multiple, diverse technologies, from multiple suppliers and support teams and still perform their core management duties at the same time. The products of our two companies are highly compatible and designed to improve consumer experience and business performance while reducing workloads for managers and their staff.”
“Through the consolidation of the companies, their products, expertise, and continuing product development, we will be able to deliver and support consolidated technology systems that increase performance, reduce costs and are easier to manage.
Brighton Technologies acquires 100% control of Generate Group in a deal that sees one of Generate Group’s founders, John Wallace, retire and his founding partner, Paul Godfrey remain as Generate Group’s Managing Director. The companies will continue to operate independently in close cooperation while their products and operations are consolidated.” Brighton Technologies Group

Generate Group partners with Capton Inc to develop IoT technology for BEVLINK draught beer management. (IoT. Internet of Things)
Internet of Things (IoT) is an increasingly popular technology solving legacy problems in all types of businesses and now it delivers a simple solution to a common profit management problem in licenced bars of hotels and clubs.
Stock movement records provide the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) data that is the foundation of every business’ financial control over revenue collection, but operators of licenced bars do not have this fundamental information for the draught and open portion beverages that represent a major portion of their sales. This lack of basic financial control data has forever complicated profit margin control and exposed hotels and clubs to high levels of loss risks.
A Capton wireless IoT data collar on each tap handle automatically captures the dispense data of every pour from every tap and sends the vital stock movement and dispense data required to achieve full commercial performance potential in licenced bars to the cloud using a Plug & Play wireless 3G router. BEVLINK® works with all types of POS and reports are automatic by email or and manually generated by users on demand.

Generate Group obtains orders against Sea-Tech Automation Pty Ltd and Greg Harris in the Federal Court of Australia
Generate Group constantly invests in R&D and is proud of the intellectual property it develops to assist hospitality managers to generate new value. Unfortunately, from time to time, we are required to defend our IP investments from illegal copying. In 2015 we commenced legal proceedings against Seatech Automation P/L for breach of copyright in Generate Group’s BEVLINK®.
On 27 April 2018 the Federal Court of Australia ordered Sea-Tech Automation Pty Ltd to pay Generate Group Pty Ltd over $4.3million and to cease supplying the computer program known as “Flow” or “Flowtech” and to not compete against Generate Group for a period of 5 years. These orders follow orders made on 17 April 2018 against Seatech director, Greg Harris, restraining him from being involved in the supply of beverage monitoring information technology in Australia for a period of 5 years.
On June 1st 2018, Generate Group applied to the Federal Court for costs payments from Sharp Electronics (Newcastle) Pty Limited, Sint Pty Ltd and Secom Pty Ltd. The parties have resolved the matter to their mutual satisfaction and Sea-Tech Automation has gone into voluntary liquidation.
Generate Group welcomes the Court's orders and believes that they will have a positive impact on the integrity of the beverage monitoring market in Australia
Generate Group is trying to work cooperatively with affected end users and re-sellers of “Flow” or “Flowtech” products and has contacted those known to Generate Group with an offer to supply BEVLINK® software, ongoing services and support. An encouraging number of venues have already committed to install or re-install BEVLINK® and other Generate Group products.
